LED Technology
Characteristics
Process-Material friendly spectrum
UV-A, 365 nm, 395 nm and visible
No infrared heating of target
Energy Efficient: 10-20% Electrical to UV Conversion Efficiency
LEDs are Solid State Technology
Instant turn on/off
No warm up time
No wasting energy compared to shutter based lamps
Rugged, shock resistant
Long life: 15,000 to 100,000 operating life
Low operating voltage
DNA safe wavelengths
Explosion and fire proof in hazardous atmospheres
Electrical cable may be longer and more flexible than optical light guides.
Continuous Improvement, Haitz's law (Moore's law for LEDs)
LED performance is doubling every 12-18 months
Lens Array Technology
Clearstone has developed patent pending lens array technology to bring
the power of multiple LEDs to a focused area. Alternately, the lens array
technology can be used to increase the practical working distance from
the light source to the target.
Applications
Biological/Medical materials sensitive to exposure to UV-C wavelengths
that may damage critical molecules Electrical assembly with LCD crystals
or Organic LEDs with molecules that are sensitive to UV-C wavelengths
Delicate heat sensitive components, membranes, films, filaments.
Long life UV light source for integration with complex equipment systems
Adhesive assembly
Coating processes
